Benefits of a Culturally Diverse Workplace


When working in an organization you will find various people of different cultural backgrounds. This is beneficial as it provides the company with different sets of skills and experiences. It will also benefit the staff, as they have the chance to associate with different cultures and learn more about it. If you view the world from a different perspective, you accomplish more and learn how to respect each individual despite their differences. We will discuss the benefits an organization will achieve from having employees from different cultural background. The following benefits are to increasing profit and improving productivity.

Increasing Profit

Cultural diversity in the workplace broadens marketing and customers (O'Bannon, 2018). A diverse workplace that consist of people of different cultures, allows business to associate with broader groups of consumers and increase business profit (O'Bannon, 2018). Also, diversity makes marketing more effective by proper communication, allowing the company to strengthen their relationship through a collaborative workplace (O'Bannon, 2018). Likewise, collaborative culture consists of employees from different backgrounds working together leads to success in creating goals resulting in the enhancement of increasing business profit (O'Bannon, 2018). Moreover, having a diverse workplace will augment the company reputation and this will lead to increased sales and profit (O'Bannon, 2018).

Improving Productivity

Every individual has a different way of thinking, functioning, problem solving and decision making, thus leading to encouragement in the workplace and inspiring the staff to perform to their highest ability (R, n.d.). Workers from different cultures will share their ideas and personal experiences regarding their previous skills. Moreover, the employees will have the opportunity to learn more about different cultures by communicating amongst one another instead of researching others cultures online (R, n.d.). The staff will feel more comfortable as they will feel accepted by seeing that their coworkers are interested in learning and understanding about their cultures. This leads to the staff feeling accepted and motivated to work, which increases productivity.
